HORWITZ, Jeannette. Peacefully, in Toronto, on December 12, 2006 at age ninety-five, after a long and happy life. Beloved wife of the late Elias Horwitz. Devoted and loving mother of Martin (Rita) of Montreal and Robert (Sandi) of Toronto. Cherished Grammy of Cindy (Puritt), Jeffrey, Tracey (Marc Roy) and Elisa, and great-grandsons Jordan and Evan Puritt. Sister of the late Flo Spector, Mary Cohen and Maurice Brotman. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service in Toronto. Interment will take place on the December 14, 2006 at 2 p.m., Back River Cemetery, King Edward (new) Section, Berri Street entrance. Shiva will be held in Toronto. Memorial donations to Oraynu Congregation (416-385-3910) or the charity of your choice.

Martin and Robert
I am in Florida and just learned of Auntie Jeannette's passing. I feel very saddened. I kept in touch with her before she moved to Toronto. I visited her at Le Castel with my daughter and called her in St. Laurent. We even met at the Mall. When Grandma Mary died..I moved in to her place and I used to take Jeanette to Murrays. She was a wonderful lady...My parents were in Florida as well when she passed away. We are sorry we were not able to pay our final respects in person.
