FUND, Rosa It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Rosa Fund of Smiths Falls. Born in Montreal on January 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Goldie and Abraham Winter. Rosa was married in 1939 to her beloved late husband Hy Fund for 24 years. Following her husband's sudden death Rosa assumed the ownership of Hy Fund Studio for 28 years until her retirement at age 75. Rosa will be ever missed as a mother by her daughters - Roberta Fund, Donna White (Richard), Shelley O'Dell (Ernest) and Patricia Fund Salem (John Carter) as a Bubi by her grandsons Brendon White (Rebecca), Shane O'Dell (Laura), Patrick and Aaron Fund Salem as well as a great-Bubi by her great-grandchildren, Justin and Abigail White. In addition, Rosa leaves behind her sister Pearlie Kates, her brother and sister-in-law Sam and Bertha Winter and her sister-in-law Sylvia Winter (the late Charles). A Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue on Tuesday December the 14th, 2004 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Montreal. Shiva private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

I have so many wonderful memories of your mother Rosa. She treated me like an extra kid. I think of her

and your house, whenever I hear Lawrence Welk or the Lennon sisters, or Tennessee Ernie Ford...

I know you will all miss her.

Dear Rosa's family,

You have our deepest sympathy. Rosa was one of a kind. It always seemed to me that she brought a touch of the big city to the small town corner of Main and Beckwith.

I don't think there has ever been a time when I visited Smiths Falls that I didn't make the effort to see her. She lit up the room, always upbeat and informative. A great sounding board for my mother, as well.

My husband really enjoyed her company and also expresses his condolences.

You will take comfort in the rich memories and great photos.
