Gertrude Shaffran

SHAFFRAN, Gertrude (Dolly) (nee Urdang). Peacefully in her ninety-second year surrounded by her loving family and her caregiver on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Eternally the beloved wife of the late Harry. Exceptionally loving mother and mother-in-law of Rona (Shaffran) and Brian Tannenbaum and Dina David. Dear aunt of Susan Pomerantz, David Sloan, Malcolm and Sheldon Rose; and great-aunt of Cara Raich, Jason Pomerantz, Peter and Mathew Sloan, Jenna, Zachary, Lowell and Ali Rose and great-great-aunt of Eden Raich. Cherished eldest daughter of the late Ida and the late Julius Urdang, of St. John and then Minto, New Brunswick. Predeceased by her dearly loved sisters Jeannette Sloan and Sylvia Rose. Special thanks to her caregivers for their loving devotion. The family express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Jewish General Hospital and especially caring staff of the Hemodialysis Unit. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Sunday, November 4 at 12 noon. Burial at the Adath Jeshuran Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri St. Shiva at 6275 Northcrest Place #717.
