HOLYOKE- On December 31, 2012, Sally C. Donohue, 87, formerly of Holyoke and Northampton, passed away at Collingwood Nursing Home in Rockville, Md.
After positions in Holyoke, Sally worked at Smith College, Northampton from 1963 through 2003, principally as Theater and Performing Arts department administrator serving students, faculty, administrators and the public graciously. Ms. Donohue herself earned an associate's degree from Worcester's Becker Junior College.
Born in Gardner, Mass., Sally was married 52 years to the late James L. Donohue. She leaves behind a daughter, Sara and grandchildren Molly, Rory and Luke of Rockville; son, Peter (Tonya) and granddaughter Caitlin of San Francisco, Calif.; and son, Paul (Marilou) and grandchildren Rachel, Ross and Audrey of Cairo, Egypt.
A wake will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 5pm until 8pm at Hobert Funeral Home, 250 Suffolk Street, Holyoke. The burial procession, with prayers, will begin at 9am on Friday, January 4, 2013, from Hobert. Sally will be buried with her husband and parents, George and Marcella Currie, at St. John Cemetery, West Street, Gardner. Contributions can be made in her honor to benefit breast cancer research to American Cancer Society
A memorial service will be held later, in the spring of 2013 at Helen Hills Chapel at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
