PLAINFIELD – Eugene F. Thatcher, 44, of Pleasant St., Plainfield, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton, with family by his side.
Born Feb. 25, 1968, in Northampton, Eugene was the son of the late Arthur C. and Virginia A. (Robbins) Thatcher.
He was a graduate of the agricultural program at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton. A dairy farmer, Eugene worked on Thatcher's Dairy Farm in Plainfield and also the Warbin Farm in Ashfield. Earlier on he had worked at the Northampton Co-op Auction.
Besides his parents, Eugene was predeceased by a brother, Charles A. Thatcher.
He is survived by his brother, Dennis and his wife, Theresa of Plainfield; his two sisters, Denise Sessions and her husband Jay of Plainfield and Arleen Snape and her husband Frank of Chesterfield; six nieces; two nephews; one great-niece; and aunts, uncles, and many friends.
The funeral will be held, Sunday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Plainfield Congregational Church with interment at Hilltop Cemetery, Plainfield. There are no calling hours.
