Evelyn "Jean" Page
November 7, 1930 - April 22, 2021
Evelyn "Jean" Page aka "Jean Parker", 90, passed away Thursday, April 22, at St. Mary's Hospital, with family by her side. She was born in Colorado Springs, CO, November 7, 1930, to Curtis Frederick Jacob Heagey and Vinta Laura (Byers) Heagey.
She married Sidney Edwin Parker June 25, 1948. They made their home in Clifton, CO, where they raised their children, Jeanne, Janet, and Kent. Sid sadly passed away in a car accident on his way home from work on August 15, 1968. After which Jean, to support her family and homestead, enrolled in the Mesa College nursing program. Her nursing carrier spanned over 38 years, in which she worked in the field as a Supervisor of RN, ER, ICU, CCU, and Director of Nursing until 2016.
On April 26, 1985, Jean married Lenard E. Page and moved to Euless, TX. They shared a life together for 30 years until his passing on July 5, 2015. One year after Len's passing Jean moved back to Grand Junction, CO, with her best friend and sister-in-law, Dortha "Dot" Page, who lost her husband, Mel Page, in 2009. Jean lived with Dot for 4 and one half years until her passing.
Jean enjoyed experiencing many things in her life. Hobbies such as sewing, hand embroidery, ceramics, crocheting, and jewelry making. She was an avid reader and later in life embraced technology teaching herself and teaching classes. Her life was enriched by her many adopted pets and love of horses and trail riding. Vacations were filled with cruises and family visits.
Family was everything to Jean and she was everything to her family. She was described as straight forward, honest, elegant, fiercely independent, kind, compassionate, and well organized. She was loved and respected by all. Her faith in the Lord was strong and over the years all could go to her to be their prayer warrior when asked.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Heagey, of Santa Clarita, CA; her children, Jeanne (John) Harris, of Hesperus, CO; Janet Parker, of Hesperus, CO, and Kent (Elizabeth) Parker, of Morgan Hill, CA.
