Jason Jones Obituary

Jason Jones 1974 - 2009 At Heavens gate the angels heard Darth Vadar's theme song, the Imperial March, as they caught a glimpse of a Colorado Rockies ball cap breaking through the clouds followed by a voice clear and lively, "So, when does God throw the first pitch?" That is when all Heaven knew that Jason Jones had arrived. Born in Grand Junction in 1974, and later moving to Longmont, where he attended Longmont High School in 1992. Jason became passionate about life, family, Star Wars, and baseball, cooking, coffee, and most of all - his beautiful daughter Emma, whom he lovingly called, "My Little Dimple Face". Those who were fortunate enough to call Jason - Son, Brother, Dad, and Friend, recall a man who was loyal, loving, and in his wordsÉ "One of the good guys". He was met at Heaven's gates by his Grandma and Grandpa Jones and his Grandma and Grandpa Bailey. Those still sitting in the grandstands here on earth, as Jason took the field of life for the last time are grandmother, Ruby McIntire; mother, Diane (Robert) Voegely; father, Robert (Carla) Jones; sister, Amy Parks; brother, Lance Voegely; brother, Ryan Voegely; brother, Tyler Jones; daughter, Emma Jones, and her mommy, Meghan Lorimore; as well as best friends, Bob, Mac, Leslie, and Dave. Please send all condolences to the family through Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, including website, www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Jason Jones Memorial Fund that has been set up for his daughter. A celebration of Jason's life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shupe Homestead 11931 N. 61st , Longmont, CO 80803. It is requested that individuals wishing to celebrate bring their favorite finger foods, munchies, and BYOB. Dress is Jason - style or come as you are; it is request that all individuals do not dress up.

Jason was one of our favorite Baristas at the Starbucks in the Hover Safeway. We delighted in his excitement at the pregnancy and birth of Emma and made her a blanket. We were sad when he left the store. We had always felt he had great potential as he was smart and personable and with good memory for all we would visit with him during our morning coffee quest. Our deepest sympathy goes to all who knew him for there is a hole in your life where he once stood.
