Junior James Maxwell Obituary
Junior James Maxwell, age 83, of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. He was born on Sept. 8, 1933, the son of John and Bertha (Havens) Maxwell in Hope, Michigan.
He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1953. On June 7, 1953, he married Norma Jean Blades at the Beaverton United Methodist Church. He worked at Dow Chemical for 36 years as the head engineer at the Southside Powerhouse. He was also an avid horse trainer, blacksmith, judge, and instructor. Junior was one of the original 4-H leaders at the 4-H Hope Trail Blazers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Norma Jean Maxwell of Beaverton, two daughters Diane (Tim) Hubbel of Beaverton and Carole (Steve) Monoghan of Beaverton; two sons Dave (Vickie) Maxwell of Freeland and Dennis (Melissa) Maxwell of Beaverton; 13 grandchildren: Christie, Jimmy, Stephanie, Charlie, Jennifer, Carrie, Heidi, Derek, Ethan, Bryer, Kaitlynn, and Kennedy; 14 great -grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Candy Gehringer and Jessie Maxwell.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Duane Koontz on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, 11 a.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. Visitation was on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, from 3-8 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. He will be laid to rest at Dale (Tobacco) Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made according to the Jessie Maxwell Scholarship Fund at the Midland Area Community Foundation.
