Maxine Kabrick Obituary

MASON CITY - Maxine N. Kabrick, 90, of Mason City, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, Feb. 16, at the IOOF Home in Mason City.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with the Rev. Steve Hansen of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Following the service, interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 122 West, Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of Maxine's service on Saturday.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Iowa or the IOOF Home in Maxine's honor.
Maxine Naomi Shouse was born on June 21, 1920, in Sutherland to Ray and Laura (Salzkorn) Shouse. She attended school at Moneta High School in Moneta. On Aug. 18, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jack R. Kabrick at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Maxine and Jack made their home in Mason City and together they owned and operated Kabrick Distributing Inc. Maxine served as the bookkeeper and office manager while Jack oversaw the daily operations. Both remained active in the family business until they were unable to do so due to health concerns.
Although Maxine held many hobbies, she was especially fond of golfing and playing card games, bridge in particular. She also enjoyed traveling and spent many years wintering in Mesa, Ariz.
Family was important to Maxine and her most cherished times were when she was able to be with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Those grateful in sharing in Maxine's life are her son, James (Mairead) Hahn; grandchildren, Michelle Hahn, Jason Hahn (Nancy Gilbert), Douglas (Brenda) Weeks, Laurie (Kent) Ausland, Mark (Mary) Weeks and Lisa Esparza; great-grandchildren, Lindzie Umbarger, Kobe Roth, J.J. Hahn, Jack Weeks, Justin Weeks, Kari Hudson, Travis Ausland, Elizabeth Weeks, Andrew Weeks, Ryan Weeks, Katey Isburg and Brittany Isburg; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Sumption; and a brother, Wendell Shouse.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Laura Shouse; husband, Jack Kabrick; a daughter, Sandie; a son, Kenneth; a sister, Beverly; and a brother, Wayne.
