Cheryl Madson

Cheryl Madson, age 63, of Glen Carbon, died at 10:33 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

She was born Sept. 25, 1954, in Highland the daughter of the late Earl and Blanche Williams Woll.

She is survived by her fiance: Kevin Diser of Glen Carbon; one sister: Nancy Garrison of Collinsville; one sister-in-law: Margaret Woll of Hamel and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was an office manager at SIUE for 37 years. She was a member of BPW. She was also a monster scrapbooker and consummate cook, baker and party planner who celebrated every holiday with elaborate cookies, cakes, breads and buffets. She had an apron for every occasion. She felt strongly about women's rights and went to Washington, D.C., to march for ERA. She was a reliable go-to girl in her professional and personal lives. She loved vacations and drove six grandchildren to Yellowstone.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Monday, Aug. 13, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.

Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, Aug. 13, at the funeral home with Rev. Deborah Aksamit officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon.

Memorials are suggested to the Oasis Women's Center.
