Dottie Jean (Dickerson) Harris, age 58 of Glen Carbon, IL passed away with her loving family by her side on January 17, 2014. She was born on September 29, 1955 in Starkville, Mississippi.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Bosley and Silver Lee Dickerson, a step-mother Joyce Bosley and sister-in-law Jacqueline Dickerson. She graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1973. After studying at SIUE she entered the military in 1983, where she served honorably for 10 years. After leaving the military she worked as LPN until 2009.
She is survived by her children, Hathor A. Dickerson, Rhasheeda R. Dickerson, Alexander M. Capers, Anessa G. Capers, Zachary Isiah Cappers also of Collinsville, Eli G. Capers and granddaughter Amauri JD Dickerson all of Collinsville, IL.
In addition, she leaves her siblings, Caliph Dickerson, Thomas James Dickerson, Mary Lee Shaw, Catherine (Thomas) Lee Mitchell, Rickey Dickerson of all Edwardsville, IL and Richard Jackson of Marshall, MO and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Church of God in Christ Congregational, 6939 Marine Road, in Edwardsville, IL with Jack Townsend Sr., Pastor will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
