James "Jimi" Ronald Scott, at age of 61, departed this life Monday, September 3, 2018 at Saint Louis University Hospital.

James was born in Indianapolis, IN to the union of Clarence E. Scott, Sr. and Melissa L. Howell Scott. Jimi grew up and attended public schools in Edwardsville. After high school, he graduated from Land of Lincoln Jr. College attaining an Associate Degree in Applied Electronics. He was a jack of all trades, worked several years for Citibank, and had his own computer business.

He was a proud member of the United States Army and received a medical discharge, after being injured.

Mr. Scott married the former Angie Locke at the Second Moravian Church of Indianapolis,IN.

Jimi was a very friendly, loving, caring, outgoing man, enjoyed spending time with family, but most of all spending time with his 17 year old daughter, Angela. Every year, when she would come and visit her Dad, they would always go to build a bear; that was their tradition. Jimi loved all his children from the bottom of his heart.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by: a daughter, Gwendolyn Scott, a brother, Clarence, Jr., 2 sisters, Anna Kathleen Hopkins and Maryann Scott-Tyson.

Jimi leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Angie; daughter, Angela; a son, Donovan (Jessie) Scott of Taiwan; 4 grandchildren, Torrie, Ariel, Brian, and Donovan, ; 2 brothers, Vincent and Wayne (Jacqueline) Scott; 2 sisters, Christina (Harry) Shaw and Deborah (Brian) Lowry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jimi was loved and will be greatly missed all who knew him.

Visitation will convene Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 2:00 until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Church of God in Christ Congregational.

Cremations rites will be accorded.
