Robert Arnold "Bobby" Dean, age 52, of Staunton, died at 12:04 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, on northbound Interstate 55 at mile marker 10.7 in Collinsville.

He was born July 17, 1966, in East St. Louis, the son of Robert Allan Dean, deceased, and Linda Sconce Dean of Troy.

He married Pamela Meade on Dec. 8, 2011, in Carlinville. She survives.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son: Joshua Dean of Phoenix, Ariz.; two step-daughters: Stephanie Hazelip (Clifford Paulovich) of Staunton and Tiffany Hazelip of Staunton; three grandchildren: Laney Ray, Kensley Cline and Kylo Cline; one sister: Beth (Rob) Luttrell of Troy; one nephew: Nick Luttrell of Troy and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Dean worked at the Maintenance Department at Challenge Unlimited in Alton. He had previously worked at U.S. Steel in Granite City for 22 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and also loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Volunteers.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home with Rev. Danny Perry officiating.

Interment will be in Salem Cemetery near Alhambra.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
