Robert M. Kilzer, age 71 of Maryville, IL, born August 19, 1947 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at his residence.
Robert retired from Afton Chemical in Sauget, IL as a chemical operator. He previously worked as a railroad block operator for Norfolk Southern. He was a member of SAR (Sons of American Revolution), and Society of 1812. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outside, and spending time with his
family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Lee and Golda (nee Braw) Kilzer; two sisters: Juanita Tayon and Delores Kilzer; and five brothers: Charles, William, Claude Jr., Lee Roy and Donald Kilzer.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Conlee) Kilzer; whom he married December 12, 1994; three sons: Scott Kilzer of Pontoon Beach, IL, Paul (Colleen) Kilzer of Pontoon Beach, IL, and Joseph (Sarah) Kilzer of Kansas City, MO; two daughters: Christie (Steve) Boss of TN and Angie (John) Sova of Mascoutah, IL; numerous grandchildren; a brother, Richard Kilzer of Belleville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Southern IL and can be mailed to the funeral home.
