GLEN CARBON — Susan Elyse Darlington, age 74 of Glen Carbon, born November 2, 1946 in St. Louis, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.



Susan was a 1965 graduate of Collinsville High School. She was a retired manager for the Office of Hearings and Appeals for the Social Security Administration. She enjoyed decorating, gardening and sewing but most of all, loved the time spent with her family.



She was preceded in death by her parents, August Hoormann and Ruth (nee Sunderman) Hoormann.



She is survived by her husband, Jack Darlington, whom she married November 12, 1993; two sons: Jack (Renee) Darlington of Gainesville, Virginia and Ryan Darlington of Collinsville; a daughter, Lisa (Steve) St. Pierre of St. Louis; five grandchildren: Will (Cristina) St. Pierre, Claire St. Pierre, Grace St. Pierre, Katherine Darlington and James Darlington; one great-grandchild, Fritz St. Pierre; a sister, Janice Milzark of Minneola, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.



Her wishes were to be cremated and private services are being held.



A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.



Memorials may be made to The Freedom School or Washington University (for Dr. Stephen Oh research fund #30253 for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms). Please make your check payable to the organization and mail to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
