Eulalia Pereia, age 96, of St. Louis and formerly of Edwardsville, died Monday, Jan. 8, at Alexian Brothers Sherbrook Village.
She was born Feb. 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Francisco and Sabina Mascarenhas Braganza in Petlada Gujrat, India.
She married Antonio S. Pereia on Jan. 1, 1941, in Zanzibar, East Africa.
She is survived by her children: Bruno (Joyce) Pereia of Cocoa, Fla., Isabel Halford of Los Angeles, Ethel (Dan) Groski of Crown Point, N.Y., Mildred (Terry) Treis of Duanesburg, N.Y., Greg (Mary) Pereia of St. Louis, Meg (Tom) Meiklejohn South Windsor, Conn., Rachel (Gary) Zimmerman) Pereia of Edwardsville and Esther Pereia of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Pereia was a homemaker and a member of the Quilting Ladies at St. Boniface.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Fr. Jeffrey Goeckner officiating.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
