SAN ANGELO Sally Fay "Mamaw" Shipman Green of Miles, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Mamaw was born in Lampasas, Texas, on Dec. 4, 1925. She married George Green on Sept. 25, 1948. Mamaw was a foster parent here in the Concho Valley for 20 years. She always had a heart for children and was devoted to loving and caring for her family as well as others. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Mamaw was also a member of Harris Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Green, who passed on Oct. 24, 1986. She is survived by her only child, James G. May Sr.; five grandchildren James G. May Jr., William D. May, Leta Fae May, Sheila May Rumsey and Sonia May Parry; her pride and joy, "Little Willy"; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Leroy Steen will be officiating. Pallbearers include Haiden Granzin, Braiden Granzin, James Trey May, Hoppy Harris, Jeff Rumsey and Bobby Parry. Mamaw was a blessing to someone everyday of her life for 88 years, three months and two days.
