SAN ANGELO Richard Wayne Smith Jr., 58, of San Angelo, Texas went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the ACM Building, 2621 Junius, San Angelo, Texas with family visitation from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Interment will be in Erick, Okla. at a later date. Richard was born Aug. 19, 1954, in Houston, Texas to Richard and Phyllis Smith Sr. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Smith; his great-granddaughter, Riata Renee Atkins; and his grandson, Jonathon Kyle Webb. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith of San Angelo, Texas; father R.W. Smith of Hereford, Texas; brother JD Smith of Sweetwater, Texas; sister Norma Fay Tolbert of Mangum, Okla.; and daughters Debbie Bailey and husband Mark of Norman, Okla., Brenda Duncan and husband Monte of Midland, Texas, Karen Webb and husband Kevin of Ozona, Texas. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Michael Williams, wife Lauren and son Cannon of Amarillo, Texas, Shantell Atkins and children Kenna, Kaylee and Cutter of Shamrock, Texas, Shelby Bailey of Orlando, Fla., Brittany Duncan and Stephanie Marquez of Austin, Texas, Kendra Webb-Hodges, husband Anthony and their children, Shawn, Kiara, Chastity, Mariah and A.J. of San Angelo, Texas, Mackenzie Duncan and Becky Deal of Dupont, Wash. and Stoney Bass of Denton, Texas. Richard will be remembered and greatly missed by many. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either The Rotary House of Hope at Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo, Texas or Seton Heart Specialty Care and Transplant Center in Austin, Texas.
