William John Wild

San Angelo, Texas - William John Wild, 79, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was born on January 23, 1942 in Schenectady, New York to F. William and Esther Wild. Graduating from Grover Cleveland High School, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1960, proudly serving for 23 years until his retirement in 1983. Thereafter, he began his 25 year career in retail, beginning with Allwoods (now Westlake Ace Hardware), and then with Walmart, Store 1249, finally retiring in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen; his son Matthew and his wife Laura; his son Mark and his wife Elaine; his brother James and his wife Elaine and their children; his sister Ann and her husband Sri and her children; as well as four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 1:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3536 Lutheran Way, San Angelo Texas, with graveside service immediately following at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the Wild family asks that any donations be made in John's name to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Shannon Hospital for all of their compassionate care they have provided.
