Grady Kenneth Capps, 67, beloved husband of nearly 40 years, adoring father, and proud veteran, died peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018, surrounded by family, after a brief and sudden illness. He leaves behind a lifetime of laughter and joyful memories with all he met and loved.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, September 14, at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Joe David Ward officiating. Harper Funeral Home will direct all arrangements.

Capps was born February 17, 1951, in San Angelo, to Grady Madison Capps and Mattye Fern Browder. He was the stepson of Joanne Capps. He grew up in San Angelo, where he would later study biology and chemistry at Angelo State University and taught sciences at Lakeview High School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman from 1972 to 1975. For nearly 30 years, he worked in human resources for GTE and Verizon, attaining the title of director. Friends and loved ones from all these walks of life will remember him for his generous laughter, cunning pranks, and quick-draw wit.
