Joseph (Joe, Frog) Layne Carpenter, 61, of Eola, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in San Angelo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Eola Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Eola Cemetery.

Joe was born on July 30, 1956 in Magum, Oklahoma to Billie Jean and Howard Wayne Carpenter. Joe moved to Texas after graduating high school in Gould, Oklahoma in 1976. He married Dreda Renee Jacoby of Eola in 1983 and had one child, Amanda.

After marriage, Joe lived in Grape Creek, then moved to Big Lake in 1989 and working for the oil field for many years. They then moved to Eola for 16 years and worked for J & J Services before he retired in 2013 from the oil field for 40 years of services. He love to hunt, fish, weld, golf, even play Santa from time to time for different special events. Joe also did some farming in his younger years. A jack of all trades. He love spending time with his family, and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Jonathan Wahmann, one grandchild, two brothers, Harvie Don Sutherland and Bud Sutherland, two sisters, Marzelle Mathews and Janet Traylor.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Renee Carpenter of Eola, a daughter, Amanda Carpenter Wahmann of Eola. A sister Sylvia Roberts & husband of Mangum, Ok. A sister in law, Dorothy Sutherland of Crane, and Doc Mathews of Magum, OK., two brothers, Dennis Lee Asper of Mustang OK., and his twin Brother Wayne Carpenter and wife of Duke OK. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and kiddos he claimed as his.

The family would like to thank all the Shannon hospital and Shannon Dialysis for twelve long years of great services, Thanks to all the doctors and technicians.

Services have been entrusted to Johnson's Funeral Home.
