David Smith Obituary

David H. Smith, age 57, of Littleton, Colorado died unexpectedly on 3/8/12. He was a long time employee of the Department of Defense. He grew up in Hudsonville, MI, and graduated from Hope College in 1977. He had a Masters degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan. He worked a number of years in private industry prior to joining government service. Dave was known for his generous nature, liberal politics, and enthusiasm for many hobbies and interests, including tennis, mountain climbing, traveling, chess, gaming, and playing piano. David is survived by his parents, Harry and Lois Smith, of Hudsonville, Mi; his sister, Julie Smith of Grand Rapids, Mi; and his brother, Daniel Smith deVries (Harriet Squier) of Haslett, MI; three nieces, a nephew, and two great nieces. An informal memorial is planned at 3 pm on Sunday, March 17 at Marker Park. Donations in his name can be made to any non religious charity of your choice.
