We have fond memories of Elmer from racing horses. He was such a nice guy who enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face. Our sympathy goes out to his family at this time.

Brummel, Elmer Hudsonville Elmer Lloyd Brummel, age 94, loved father, went to heaven on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and joined his wife, Jacoba; son, Eldon Jack and infant child, Judy. Treasuring his life are his children, Dawn and Ray Mulder, Rita and Dave Vander Jagt, Phil and Michelle Brummel, Sandy and Tom LeVand, Gail and Jack Vander Laan, Dan and Sandy Brummel; 19 grandchildren and their spouses; 31 great grandchildren; sister, Nadene Klynstra; sisters-in-law, Gladys Brummel, Dorothy Brummel; many nieces and nephews. Dad enjoyed deer hunting in the U.P. with his buddies and horse racing throughout Michigan and into Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Canada. He was a champion for the underdog and didn't walk away from a challenge. He loved his family unconditionally and had many friends throughout the Midwest. He was strong, steady, humble and did not complain. If you hade a conversation with him, you know he had a quick sense of humor and amazing memory for family and community history. In recent years Dad had special caregivers at his condo and at Sheldon Meadows. Thank you all! A private funeral service will take place. A memorial service will be held in the Spring/Summer of 2020.
