Rev. Charles Boyd Courtney, 85, of Crittenden, died Monday, March 5, 2018 in Crittenden.
He was born October 12, 1932 in Scott County and was the son of the late Boyd and Ruby Haley Courtney.
He was the pastor at Potter's House in Crittenden.  He was also a retired supervisor for security for L'Oreal USA.  He loved working with his hands and especially woodworking.
He was an Army veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Walton-Verona High School.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Linda Jane Tracy Courtney; sons, Dr. Michael Courtney (Doris) of Tennessee, John Courtney, Eddy Courtney and Rudy Courtney, all of Crittenden; two daughters, Chonda Pierce and Samantha Courtney Davis, both of Tennessee; a brother, Jerry Courtney of Dry Ridge; sisters, Peggy Ammon and Diane McNeely, both of Burlington; four grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer) Courtney, Jacob Courtney, Cherykay and Zachary Pierce; four great grandchildren; a adopted daughter, Crystal Whitworth (Ricky) of Crittenden; seven adopted grandchildren, Vadelity Whitworth, Madison Whitworth, Keagan Whitworth, Creighton Whitworth, Everleigh Whitworth, Addylyne Whitworth and Jennavecia Whitworth and a special friend: Dewey "Junior" Oaks of Crittenden.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Courtney and Ben Courtney and two daughters, Charlotta Courtney and Cherlyn Courtney.
Funeral services were held March 11, 2018 at the Potter's House in Crittenden. 
Burial with military honors was at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown.  Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden handled the arrangements.
