Karen Bonney

Great Falls —Karen Louise (Jarvey) Bonney, 58, died July 20, 2013 of cancer, at her home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24th, 9:00am-4:00pm, Croxford Funeral Home, 1307 Central Avenue. A wake for Karen will be Wednesday, July 24th, 5:00pm, 1605 12th Avenue South. Funeral services are Thursday, July 25th, 10:30am, Croxford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Karen was born December 30, 1954, in Browning, to Henry and LaVerne (Calf Robe) Jarvey. She was raised on Hill 57. She graduated from CMR in 1973 and then attended the College of Great Falls. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother of five beautiful children. She was totally devoted to her children and worked to provide everything for them that they might ever need. In addition to her work within the four walls of her home, she worked as a CNA and seasonal firefighter.

She enjoyed laughing a lot and helping others. She loved spending time with her family; barbecues, camping , the stock car races, attending Pow Wow's, and outdoor activities. She liked sewing, listening to the Supremes, and caring for her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook, if you were hungry, she fed you. She was kind to others and always had a way of making people feel welcome. Karen also had a special nicknames for her family. She loved drinking coffee and visiting with her sisters and brother. She enjoyed watching her husband play guitar and singing. If you could smell Vicks, Karen wasn't too far away, it was her remedy for everything. Her favorite flower was the lilac and she loved the color purple. She also liked attending Mass at St. Ann's Cathedral. She was very devout.

Karen is survived by her husband William Bonney; daughters Angela and Lisa Bonney; sons Jawn Torres and Travis Hess; sisters Charlene Decelles, Lois Yazzie, Christine McGillis and Marsha Ekberg; brothers Keith and Mark Jarvey; grandchildren Jaden, Mahlon, Tia, Savage, Stryder, Kaiden, Leah, Cyanna, Tristan, Talis, Tage, Rhiley and Parker.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and son Mahlon Hess.
