Betty Anne Oleson

Great Falls - Betty Anne Oleson, 84, of Great Falls, died of heart complications on Tuesday, August 7.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10 at the Sun River Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A reception will follow at the Heritage Inn at 11:30.

Betty Anne Cooper was born December 29, 1933 in Great Falls. She was raised at the family farm in Carter until her family moved to Fort Shaw in 1946, where she attended Simms High School and graduated with the class of 1951.

Betty Anne married her high school sweetheart, Dick Oleson, September 7, 1952 and raised their four sons in the home they built together in 1965 in Sun River.

She was a dedicated homemaker and later, as her sons grew up, she worked at the Sun River School as a cook for the lunch program for many years with her good friend Dot Opheim. She enjoyed attending the sporting events of her boys and cheering them on. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, making jewelry, gardening, and baking cookies.

Betty Anne is survived by her sons Bruce (Mikel) of Great Falls and Doug (Beverly) of Columbia Falls; brother Duane (Ina Mae) of Great Falls; six grandchildren: Shaina (David), Scott, Clint, Nikki (Brendan), Erin (Miles), and Connor (Roni); and six great-grandchildren Kayden, Braxton, Kayleigh, Landon, Kiernan, and Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dick; her two sons Greg and Vince; parents Beverly and W. LaVerne Cooper; and bothers Mervin and Gerald.

Betty Anne will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
