Dale Reidle Obituary
SIDNEY Dale Reidle, 67, died of natural causes Friday, July 27, at the Sidney Health Center.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairview, Mont. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, N.D., under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

Dale Dean Reidle was born in the Brodhead House on May 19, 1945, in Fairview to parents Herbert and Agnes Reidle; he was the second of five children in this family whose heritage was 100 percent German. He was raised on the family irrigated farm near Fairview and was involved in 4-H, FFA and football; graduating with the FHS class of 1963. Dale always enjoyed many extended family and neighborhood gatherings in the valley.

Dale went on to graduate from UND in Grand Forks, N.D., in January 1969 - as a member of their football team he was a lifelong fighting Sioux fan. Dale was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Ludington on Sept. 17, 1966, in Fairview at the Presbyterian Church by Dale's Lutheran pastor. He was a loving and caring husband and life was certainly never dull or boring around him! To this marriage two sons were born - Douglas Dale and David Lloyd. We are so proud of the good men they grew up to be and cherished our close relationship with them and their families.

Dale was a farmer rancher in the Fairview area most of his life - over 35 years - he set an example of hard, honest work ethic for his sons to follow. He was a SAE, involved in Jaycees, FFA Alumni, 200 Club, ELKS and NCIS board for Montana. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and affiliated with Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney. He enjoyed reading, especially Patrick McManus books.

In 2004, Dale and Ruth sold the farm and moved to Sidney, beginning another chapter in their lives. He became an insurance adjuster - first for vehicles and homes. Several years later, he became a crop adjuster - this was a job he truly loved and he always did everything he could to help the farmer, remembering his own experience and struggles. He had a close working relationship with the Hutterites across Montana who fondly called him "the Colonel."

Dale was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he enjoyed following the girls in their activities of sports, 4-H, and music and was extremely proud of each of them. Dale and Ruth enjoyed travel and were able to take many small trips when the boys were growing up and also cruised to Alaska twice - both trips in some way involving their friends the Hatters. Last April, they went on a transatlantic cruise to Spain in celebration of retirement and their 45th anniversary.

Surviving him are wife, Ruth Reidle, Sidney; sons Douglas (Mary Jo) Reidle of Bainville, and David (Becky) Reidle, Sidney; granddaughters Somer Noel and Abby Nicole, Bainville; Shelby Adelle and Shanyn Ruthanne, Sidney; brother Loren (Tami) Reidle, Fairview, Mont.; sisters Loretta (John) Berry, Sidney; Melva (Roger) Meredith, Sahuarita, Ariz.; brother-in-law Ralph (Lyne) Ludington, Cumberland, Maine; sister-in-law Marilyn Lorenz, Sidney; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Agnes (Dschaak) Reidle; brother Kenny; in-laws Lloyd and Martha Ludington and brothers-in-law Gary Ludington and Walter Lorenz.

Dale will be missed dearly by many, but will remain in our thoughts and prayers until we are united again.
