Katharina G. Wurz

Big Rose Colony - Katharina G. Wurz, passed Thursday evening, January 7, 2020, in her home at Big Rose Colony with family by her side.

Katie was born on November 19, 1937 in Warner, Alberta to George and Susanna (Waldner) Entz. She lived her childhood there with all her aunts and uncles and receive her education in Canada. In 1951 Katie moved to Glacier Colony at Cut Bank with her family, leaving most of her relatives in Alberta. Katie married Joseph A Wurz in November of 1961 and resided at Hillside Colony at Sweetgrass. In May of 1963 they moved to Rim Rock Colony at Sunburst. She remained at Rim Rock Colony most of her life with her sistes, Susie and Lydia, and their families. She moved to Big Rose Colony at Shelby on June 7, 2020. Katie has been heartbroken missing her sisters and grandkids, her dear Johanna who was her comfort after Katie's husband, Rev. Joe, died in 2013, and Leah who was like her own grandkid that lived with her after Joe died.

Katie helped her husband in the garden for 34 years and a kindergarten teacher for 21 years. She always thanked her dear Lord for everything He helped her accomplish. Until her death, Katie sewed, knitted, and sang her hymns.

Survivors include her dear sisters, Susie of Big Rose Colony, Lydia (Zack) of Rim Rock Colony, Sarah (Elias), Rebecca, Barbra, and Judy all of Cascade Colony at Sun River; brothers, Peter (Ruth) and Dave both of Cascade Colony; her nephews who took care of her, Philip, George, Rev Walter, Dave, Mark, Joe, and Rev Albert; and her nieces, Kate, Susanna, and Laura.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev Joe A. Wurz in 2013; and most of her in-laws.

She will be greatly missed by her family, but they take comfort in knowing Katie is where she longed to be.

Special thank you to those who helped take care of Katie; Dr Clary and staff and Phil Aschim.
