Browning - Loretta Lee Fisher Pepion born May 11, 1942 in Dillon, MT to Jimmy and Wanda Fisher. At the age of 76 years, Loretta peacefully passed while in hospice at Kalispell Regional Medical Center on June 11, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter Sheri Pepion and ex-husband Howard Pepion of Browning. Extra daughters include Carrie Hirst and Lea Whitford, brothers: Donald Fisher and Joe Fisher of Browning. She is proceeded in death by three sisters; Donna Fisher Peters, Sadiann Fisher and Marie Fisher, parents; Jimmy and Wanda, grandparents; James and Ruth Fisher, Joseph Monroe, Leo & Sadie Kennerly.

Loretta attended school in Flandreau Indian School and graduated from Browning High School in 1960. She went on to relocation to San Francisco and attended technical college for office administration. She returned to Browning and was one of the first students to attend Blackfeet Community College.

Loretta began her employment in 1967 at Museum of the Plains Indian as a clerk-typist. In 1974 she was promoted to Museum Assistant. In 1979 she received an award for Outstanding Performance. In 1981 she was one of several Indian Arts and Crafts Board museum employees to receive a Group Special Achievement Award. Finally, in 1983 she was promoted to Curator of the Museum of the Plains Indian and Craft Center, and served in that position until her retirement of May 2004. Thirty- seven years of service to the Museum of the Plains Indian.

Loretta was a very social person that loved to visit, cook and feed everyone. She welcomed many people and animals into her home to feed them! She was known to take in people under her wing. Loretta was a regular at the casino where she loved to gamble and catch up on the local "news."

The wake is in progress at Glacier Homes Wake Center beginning June 12, 2018. Rosary will be Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at wake center. Funeral Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Flower Parish in Browning. Burial at Fisher Cemetery in St Mary, MT.
