Missoula - Lyle Robert Fatz, 56 of Missoula died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Lyle was an avid volunteer in the Missoula community. Lyle enjoyed cooking for friends and family, farming with his "brother" Brent Crawford, and working with his hands. He made every person he met feel like they were a close friend.

Lyle is survived by his two sisters Jane (Fatz) Buxengard, and Dorothy (Pete) von Holtum of St Ignatius; two children, Jacob Fatz and Maria Fatz of Detroit Lakes, MN; nephews Luke and Paul Fatz, Bill von Holtum; nieces Laura Buxengard, Katy von Holtum; Ann and Brent (Karina) Crawford of Carter, MT that he considered a second family.

Lyle is proceeded in death by his parents Victor and Kathy (Hinkle) Fatz; brothers Paul and Mark Fatz; and nephew Justin Fatz; lifelong friend Wayne Crawford; and his loyal cat, Kitty.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held in Fort Benton, MT in the summer of 2021, date to TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made for the celebration of life. The donation link can be found on Axelson Funeral Home website (www.buttefuneralhome.com).
