Obituary Condolences

Mike Bozik, 96, of 1109 6th Ave. N., a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and retired Postal Service employee, died of natural causes Thursday at his home.
Private family services will be held. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.
Survivors include sisters Margaret Klasner of Great Falls and Helen Kleffner of Port Orchard, Wash.; and a brother, Frank Bozik of Great Falls.
Mike was born Oct. 19, 1909, in Stockett. He grew up and attended schools in Stockett and Sand Coulee, and in 1929 graduated from Centerville High School.
He married Elsie Dwire in 1938 in Great Falls.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard off the West Coast and was stationed in Oregon from 1943 to 1945. He worked on various farms in the Stockett area and also a short time at Great Northern Railway shops. He then did coal mining at Griffen Coal Mine.
He started in the Postal Service in 1942. After his military service, he did postal transportation service from Butte to Miles City and later from Shelby to Williston, N.D., finally working for the Great Falls Post Office until retiring in 1976.
Mike was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and VFW Post 1087. He enjoyed the Nautilus Health Spa for daily exercise and basketball at the high school in Centerville. He was an excellent dancer and square-danced for about 10 years, up until he was 90 years old.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie (Dwire) Bozik, in 1983.
