Norma Lois Kueffler Obituary
Norma Lois (Thompson) Kueffler, age 90, died of natural causes Saturday, Dec. 29, at a Great Falls health care facility.

Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home.

Norma was born Feb. 14, 1922, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (McKinsey) Thompson. She and Herman J. Kueffler were married in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1977. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church and was among one of the first to be involved with the licensed practical nursing program when it originated in Montana. She was employed by the former Columbus Hospital in Great Falls for forty years.

Norma was a loving and caring person. As the last surviving sibling, she was the "heart" of our family. She enjoyed baking and her Christmas cookies were always looked forward to. As an obstetrics nurse, she loved children and even after her retirement, she enjoyed looking after her relatives' children. When she gave up her home and moved into an apartment, she took on the responsibility of looking after her neighbors. She was very compassionate, and her family meant everything to her.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Florence) Kueffler and Ron Kueffler, both of Fritch, Texas; nine grandchildren, Shawna (Kueffler) Tidwell of Borger, Texas, Patrick Kueffler of Midwest City, Okla., Denny Kueffler of Pewaukee, Wis., Steve Kueffler of Del City, Okla., Steve Oeleis of Borger, Texas, Debbie Doss of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Brenda Kueffler, Rhonda Kueffler and Aaron Kueffler all of Great Falls; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; sisters Lillian Annau, Jenette Wilson and Dorthy Cole; brothers Robert "Bob" Thompson, Donald "DW" Thompson, Jack "JB" Thompson, Richard "Corky" Thompson, Cliffard Thompson and William Thompson; and grandson, Richard "Dickie" Oeleis.
