Great Falls - Robert Davis "Scotty" Pearce, 86, of Great Falls passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018. A graveside Memorial Service will be held next month at Highland Cemetery.

Scotty was born at the Deaconess Hospital on December 13, 1931 to Margaret and William Pearce in Great Falls. He grew up in Sand Coulee, MT where his dad worked in a coal mine. Scotty was in the 8th grade when the family moved to Great Falls where his dad found employment in the Anaconda zinc and copper Smelter. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1950 and entered the Navy a month later and served aboard the USS Princeton for four years during the Korean War. After his service he returned to Great Falls where he worked for Cascade County, the Pillsbury Co., State Farm Insurance and retired from the Montana Job Service in 1986. In 1961 he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Great Falls.

Scotty enjoyed his yard and fishing on the Missouri River and at Black Beach on Holter Lake. He loved horse racing and followed the horses throughout Montana as well as Coeur d'Alene, Spokane, Portland, Lethbridge and Calgary. He claimed a race horse and ran her for two years. In later years he enjoyed breakfast out often seeing old friends. He regularly attended a monthly luncheon with Great Falls High classmates.

Scotty is survived by his wife Loretta, daughters Lezlie Pearce-Hopper (Warren Hopper) and Vickie O'Fallon (Dan). He is also survived by grandchildren Lindsey Hopper (Kyle Thomas), Kelly Hopper (Jennifer), Dillon O'Fallon and brothers Clayton Pearce (Sand Coulee) and Dale Pearce (Portland, OR). He was preceded in death by his older brothers William Jr. and Jack.
