CHINOOK - Cheryl K. Gruszie, 60, of Chinook, died of a brain aneurysm Saturday at a Billings hospital.
Her funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havre, with burial in Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
Survivors include her mother, Beth Chapman of Chinook; her husband, Howard Gruszie of Chinook; a son, Vincent (Alisha) Gruszie of Havre; daughters Lisa Preeshl and Pam (Dan) Monaco of Billings, and Kathy (John) Costello of Seattle; her mother-in-law, Louise Gruszie of Chinook; brothers Max Chapman of Golden, Colo., Doug Chapman of Naperville, Ill., Brett Chapman of Missoula and Todd Chapman of Hermiston, Ore.; a sister, Karen Cleveland of Great Falls; nine grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was born on Nov. 12, 1947, in Havre to Harold and Elizabeth (Detra) Chapman. She attended schools in Chinook and graduated from Chinook High School. Cheryl married Howard Gruszie on Oct. 30, 1964, in Havre. She was involved with her husband on the family farm south of Chinook.
Cheryl was also a Sunday school teacher for 13 years in Chinook, active with her children in the 4-H programs and also a member of the W.I.F.E. organization for a number of years. Cheryl loved to read and loved animals. The apples of her eye were the grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Chapman in 1987.
