Morrie was born March 26, 1952, in Great Falls. He attended Catholic schools in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High in 1970.
Morrie purchased the Frankenstein Bar when he was 18 years old. He was the youngest bar owner in the state of Montana at that time. He later owned and operated the Pacific Bar until the building was condemned in 1978. In 1979, Morrie built the Hide Out Lounge, which he owned and operated until 2006.
