Albert Vaile Jr. Obituary
Albert Vaile Jr.

Babb —Albert Vaile Jr., 79, of Babb passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.

He requested that a celebration of his life be held in June 2014, exact date pending. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home.

Albert was born to Albert Vaile Sr. and Cecile Flamond in Browning on November 23, 1934. He lived in the Babb area all of his life where he loved the mountains and the back country. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. He packed horses all through the areas where most people aren't privy to see. He knew every inch of that country. "Jr." was a long time rancher and team roper. In 1952, he was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Smith.

In his early years, he worked for Glacier National Park on the road crew and also for the Blackfeet Tribal Police where he earned Sharp Shooter prestige. He was a Game Warden for the Blackfeet Tribe as well, a job that he loved. He was able to be out in his beloved mountains. During this time he worked with the Blackfeet Tribal Council to close the Boulder area to hunting to preserve the Blackfeet Tribe's elk herds for generations to come. Until his death, he served on the Honorary Blackfeet Tribal Council which is made up of tribal elders.

Jr. is survived by his wife, Gwen; children Neil "Gus" (Traci), Loris (Gordon) Peterson, and Jim (LaNaya); sister Arlene Fenner; brother Frank Vaile; grandchildren Merelle, Mikki, Jordyn, Jenny, Caleb and Logan; great-grandchildren Raymond, Raynell, Ty-Neil, Thane and Camden; nephews John, Jim and Jeff Fenner, Jake, Colton, Shawn, and Johnny Bull; and nieces Miss, Lori and Theresa.

Jr. rode "over the mountains" on Old Blue; his favorite old horse.
