Bette Lou Buus

GREAT FALLS —Bette Lou Buus, 77, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow at The Other Place. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Bette was born on August 24, 1936 in Glasgow, Montana to Arthur John and Irma L. Gemberling. She was raised in Great Falls and was a graduate of Great Falls High School class of 1954.

In 1954 she married Richard L Neuroth, they later divorced. In 1960 Bette married the love of her life, Darrell L. Buus.

She started working at the age of thirteen at the Tastee Freeze with many jobs in between. She finally landed her dream job at the Great Falls Tribune in 1970. She retired from there due to illness in 1995.

Bette very much enjoyed and loved the time spent with her family, friends, and animals. She enjoyed music, dancing, taking drives, reading, and was an amazing cook. She also loved beating everyone at a game of cards at the family cabin at the Dearborn.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Darrell L. Buus; sons Timothy (Cindy) Neuroth, John (Sandie) Buus, Marshall (Sonja) Buus, and Randy (Karmon) Overgaard; brother Donald Gemberling; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild to be born later this year.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bill Brey.

She has touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all.
