Marion M. Reppe

Winifred —Marion M. Schellhammer Reppe 93 of Winifred resident passed into the loving arms of her Savior Friday afternoon in the Central Montana Skilled Nursing Center of natural causes. She was born September 26, 1920 in Lansing, Iowa the daughter of George and Minnie (Uren) Schellhammer. She was the eldest of eight children, her mother died when she was 15 and she became the "Mother" figure for her brothers and sisters. She received her schooling in Iowa and on June 21, 1938 she was united in marriage to Thomas Orren Reppe in Church, Iowa. In July of 2013 they celebrated 75 years of marriage with all seven of their living children, numerous grandchildren and friends in attendance. Tom died January 14, 2014.

After their marriage Tom and Marion leased a farm outside of Lansing, Iowa where their eight children were born. In 1954 they gave up their lease, sold their machinery and livestock and moved to Winifred, MT with their eight children and two squirrels his uncles requested they bring along. There they leased a ranch from his uncles. In 1964 they gave up that lease and moved to a home in Winifred. Tom did carpentry and Marion started a painting business. In 1971 they wanted a warmer climate and moved to Mesa, AZ. While living in Mesa, Marion did custom draperies. After retiring, they spent winters in AZ and summers in Winifred with daughter Shirley Benes. In 2002 both were suffering from poor health, so they moved to Winifred fulltime where they lived with Shirley until September 2010 when they moved into" Shepherds Way" in Lewistown. He preceded her in death in January of 2014.

Marion is survived by sons: Roland Reppe of Lewistown, Roger (Sue) Reppe and Orren (Nancy) Reppe both of Great Falls; four daughters Shirley Benes of Winifred, Darlene (Jerry) Udelhoven of Danville, CA, Jean Halverson of Big Fork, MT and Deloris Udelhoven of Billings, MT; brother Glenn (Marge) Schellhammer of Ames, IA; sisters Elsie Meyer of Manchester, IA and Lila Wiepert of McGregor, IA; sister-in-law Mary Schellhammer of Milwaukee, WI; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren 8 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marion was preceded in death by both parents; 3 brothers Morris, Ernie and Clifford, one sister Iva Jean, one daughter Carolyn Sunkenberg; grandsons Kevin Thompson, Timothy Reppe, Jerry Hamilton; great grandson Johnathin Huck.

Funeral Services for Marion M. Reppe will be Saturday, August 9th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Winifred American Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the Winifred Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Winifred American Lutheran Church. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
