Alice Lander Obituary
Alice (Knudsen) Lander, 91, of Great Falls, died of cancer Monday, Feb. 27, at a local nursing home.

She will be buried with her husband, and a private family service will be held at a later date. Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory is handling cremation and arrangements.

Alice was born July 9, 1920, in Great Falls, to Carl and Ella (Skow) Knudsen, the fifth of six children. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1938. She married William Lander on April 25, 1940, and of this mar-riage were born two sons - Darrel in 1941, and Charles in 1944.

She was a stay-at-home mom while Bill went to fight in World War II. After the Korean War, she went to work for Northern School Supply. She eventually went to work at Malmstrom Air Force Base as a civil servant for the U.S. Air Force, from which she retired in 1982.

Alice enjoyed spending time with her family. She also had her special lunch friends and her friends at Friday night dinner club at Eddie's. She liked people of all descriptions, and was a friend to everyone she met.

She will be sorely missed by her family, but we know that she has gone to join her love, Bill, in a better place.

Alice is survived by son Darrel (Jody) of Havre, and son Charles of Bellevue, Wash.; seven grand-children; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and her five siblings.
