Kolb, John L.

John L. Kolb, 90, passed away July 10, 2013, in St. Cloud, Minn. He was born in Argonne, Wis., Feb. 2, 1923, to Conrad Kolb and Ruth (Mueller) Kolb. Upon graduation from Pulaski High School in 1941, Jack joined the U.S. Navy serving from March of 1943 to January 1946 as a Torpedoman's mate and submariner and was at the Battle of Midway. He attended the University of Minnesota upon completion of his service, graduating with a B.S. Degree in Agronomy. He met his wife, Rajah (Haik) while at the U of M and they were married May 5, 1951. Jack established a successful turf supply business and he and Rajah were generous in giving of their time and financial support in their community as well as their parish Community of St. Joseph Church in West St. Paul.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Rajah, five children and spouses, and 17 grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Jim (June), Florissant, Mo.; and Margaret (Donald) Bins, Green Bay; many dear friends and relatives. His parents, Conrad and Ruth and sister, Alice (Cliff) Gill preceded him in death.
