Monica was very active as a volunteer at her grandson's school, Amherst Elementary, Reach for Recovery, and Mission of Hope and Monica raised thousands of dollars for the Susan G. Komen For The Cure.
Heaven is a little brighter because of a new bright star when Monica entered her heavenly home. She has truly been an angel on earth and God wanted her with him so she did not have to suffer anymore. She had raised over $6,000 to participate in the 60 mile walk in Dallas, TX in 2011 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer reoccurrence after being cancer free for 9 ½ years.
Monica was a fighter and never gave an inch to the breast cancer that ravaged her body until the very end. She will be truly missed by everyone who knows her, especially her Ethan's Glen family. To know Monica was to love her as she was a very, very caring and giving person - she was always doing for others.

Dear Monica, You were such inspiration to me. To see your courage and determination one only needed to look out the window and watch you work in the garden and know "wow there is something greater than oneself to live for". I honor you my friend for the light you are here amongst us and in your eternal life. Farewell my dear
