Kirutza, Daniel E.
Daniel E. Kirutza, 62, Hobart, Wis., formerly of Hawthorne Woods, Ill., passed away at his home in Hobart on Oct. 27, 2013.
Dan was born on July 30, 1951, in Chicago, Ill., and grew up in Knollwood, Ill. He retired from the City of Lake Forest, Ill., in 2003, after more then 30 years of employment.
He loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears, Green Bay Packers, movies and anything that had to do with Disney. He also liked to go to Bass Lake in Wisconsin, where he would fish and boat. He also received an Associates Degree from DeVry Institute in electronics.
He is survived by three sisters, Cindy (Mark) Shafer, Plainfield, Ill.; Pam (Kurt) Hansen, Wadsworth, Ill.; and Rochelle (Sara Michael) Kryger, Hobart, Wis.; several nieces and nephews, Melissa, Andrea, Darren, Brandon, Joshua, Kailee and Ryan; two great-nieces Jenna and Vivian and one great-nephew, Eli.
He was preceded in death by his father, Julian on Oct. 17, 2005 and his mother, Pauline May 15, 1995.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, Ill. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.

Our entire class remembered Daniel at our 50th Reunion this past summer (2019). His name was read aloud during our LFHS'69 Memorial Service. We will never forget him.

You were my confidante, my friend, my traveling companion, my protector, my giver of incredibly interesting information. You made me laugh. You made me ponder the world and all its creation.
