Weiss, Margaret Jane
Margaret Jane Weiss, age 96 of De Pere and formerly of Racine passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening October 9, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was born August 25, 1916 in West Bend to the late Charles and Katherine (Gorman) Walter. In 1938 she graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. On May 21, 1940 she was united in marriage to Webster Weiss.
Jane was an avid Bridge player and never passed up a game. She was a "Best Friend" to all her friends, and her smile was welcoming to all which made her very approachable to everyone whether family, friends or acquaintances. As a Mother, Grammy, or friend, there was no better than Jane. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in De Pere, the Alumni Board at Mount Mary College, and a 20 year plus volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital in Racine.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Carol) Weiss, De Pere, Margaret "Peggy" Tripp, Green Bay, and John (Amy) Weiss, Green Bay. Jane's 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, her daughter in law Judy (Roger) Van Eperen, Hollandtown, her sister in law Dorothy Walter, Eau Claire, and her dear friend and guardian angel Gloria McGuire.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband Webster, her son William, and her siblings and their spouses.
Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere after 9am on Friday October 12, 2012. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial for Jane will take place at 3:30pm Friday at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Allenton, WI.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Our Lady of Lourdes, Mount Mary College, Notre Dame Academy, or St. Catherine's High School. The RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere is assisting the family. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
