Cletus DeKeyser(1943 - 2011)

Cletus E. DeKeyser, 68, Brussels, passed away at his home on Oct. 25, 2011. He was born on May 29, 1943, in Brussels, to Edward and Mildred (Massart) DeKeyser. On Sept. 8, 1962, he married Joyce Jenquin in Brussels. After completion of his education at NE Technical School, he started DeKeyser Cabinets and then branched into general construction as DeKeyser Builders. In 1983, he established DeKeyser Hardware in Brussels. He was an ambitious man, who willingly helped all, and was dedicated to his family. Cletus was a charter member of the Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Department and served for 44 years. He was also a member of the Catholic Knights, Catholic Order of Foresters, and was a past member of the Brussels Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; five children, Susan Havel, Brussels; Mark (Linda) DeKeyser, Brussels; Becky (Jeff) Rouer, Brussels; Betty Jo (David) Derozier, Luxemburg; Christopher (fiancee, Sarah Herlache) DeKeyser, Brussels; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Wayne) Engebose, Forestville; Corinne (Robert) Mathis, Amberg, Wis.; one brother, Keith (Terrie) DeKeyser, Brussels. Cletus was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece and nephew, Nikki and Brian DeKeyser.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at St. Francis and St. Mary Church in Brussels, with the Rev. Pius Cotter officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
