Hoffman, Robert C.

Robert C. Hoffman, Kaukauna, age 89 died peacefully on May 17, 2014 at St. Paul Villa. He was born March 28, 1925 in Appleton, son of late Henry and Lillian (Novak) Hoffman. Robert graduated from Kaukauna High School and served in the Army during World War II. He then married Dorothy (Dottie) Hooyman on July 11, 1949. Robert was a devoted husband and father who lived in Kaukauna his entire life. He worked at Thilmany Pulp & Paper for 41 years and retired as a machinist on April 1, 1987. Robert, being a handyman, could fix almost anything. He loved working on small engines and making things run. Robert also loved watching the birds and animals outside.

He is survived by 6 sons: James (Kathy), John (Ann), Tom (Barb), Mark, Richard (Rebecca), and Barry (Michele); 2 daughters: Paula (special friend Andy Brantmeyer) Joszefowicz and Mary "Huffy" Hoffman; 24 grandchildren: Fred, Ron, Kevin, Ryan (Miranda), Pat (Kristie), Michelle (Pat) DeGroot, Ranae (fiancé Adam) Van Zeeland, Travis (Susie), Brian, David (April), Steven (Samantha), Paul, Hilary (Drew) O'Brien, Scott (Erin), Jesse (Tina) Foster, Amy (Adam) Pingel, Kimberly (Johnathon) Pratt, Michael, Heather (Ryan) Siebers, Holly, David (Jess) Pownell, Elisha (Jon) Reis, Heather Pownell, and Zues; 26 great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Carl (Karlene) Hoffman and Ken (Luann) Hoffman; a brother-in-law, Larry Wittuhn, sister-in-law, Tootie Hoffman, a special friend of many years, Leonard Else, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his parents, 2 grandsons: James Hoffman, Jr. and Brian Keith Hoffman; 3 sisters: Marie (William) Jansen, Dorothy Wittuhn, and Betty Van Schyndel, and his brother, Donald Hoffman.

Prayer Service for Robert will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Deacon Richard Hoffman officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name. Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery.

We will all miss you forever Dad. Your entire family and friends.
