Peter Wenner Obituary
Los Angeles, CA - Peter Michael Wenner passed away on March 20, 2021, at the age of 62 surrounded by beloved friends and family in Los Angeles. Facing a long battle with colon cancer, Peter fought courageously until the end. Even through his most difficult moments, he portrayed a fighting spirit and relentless positivity that will live on with those closest to him.
Peter was born to Robert and Betty Wenner at Queen's Hospital on September 23, 1958, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1981 and the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business in 1988 where he was an adjunct professor from 1999-2000. While in Los Angeles, Peter met the love of his life, Susan McGonigle. They married in 1985 and had four children, Chris, Billy, PJ (), and Matthew. During his nearly 40years in Los Angeles, Peter passionately built a close community of friends and business partners. He was dedicated to the things he loved: real estate, the sailing community, golf, cooking, discovering new recipes, gathering with his many friends and family around a delicious meal and great conversation, and being an active member of his parish, St. Anastasia.
Peter is survived by his wife, Susan, Chris and Lauren Wenner, Billy and Danela Duric, Matthew Wenner, his grandchildren Claire and Jack Wenner, his twin brother Paul Wenner (Alane) and sisters Julie Kohl (John) and Mary Wenner, a host of nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Peter was predeceased by his son, PJ, and parents, Robert and Betty Wenner.
Peter was an exceptionally loving husband and father. He was also a true friend to all those who were fortunate enough to call him one. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peter McGonigle "P.J." Wenner Memorial Endowment Fund at the University of Hawaii, Manoa.
