Patricia O'Keefe Obituary

O'Keefe, Patricia

Patricia (LeSage) O'Keefe, 69, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, WI, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017, with close family and friends by her side after a yearlong battle with ovarian cancer. Pat was born November 26, 1947 to the late Harold and Lorraine (Neville) O'Keefe. She attended Green Bay East High School and graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School in 1965. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Concordia University in 1994. Pat married Rick O'Keefe on October 24,1970, and together they shared 48 loving years of marriage. Pat and Rick were childhood sweethearts who met in Astor Park when Pat was 16 years old. Pat and Rick created many memories and traditions that will always be carried on by the family. Even though Pat is no longer walking among us, she will forever be Rick's loving Rose.

Pat was a dedicated employee at Associated Bank. She started her career there at age 17 as a bank teller. By the end of her career she had risen to Vice President and Director of Human Resources. As if being a loving wife, mother, and going back to school wasn't enough, she also devoted her time to outstanding community service. She dedicated countless hours volunteering for leadership roles in Family Services, The United Way of Brown County, The American Foundation of Counseling Services (AFCS), and The Women's Fund of Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. Pat was also involved with a group of 15 executive level women called Mastermind. Their focus was in learning how to better succeed in a traditionally male dominated corporate world. As a result of this group and its achievements, hundreds of women throughout the community saw professional advancement. Pat was also very active with her church, serving on many committees. She demonstrated that one can successfully balance a career, family, friends, and faith.

Pat's grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved spending time "Up North" at the family cabin, going on road trips to Door County, being outdoors in her beautiful gardens, watching for cardinals, spending time on the water, making Christmas cookies, going on family adventures, and simply just enjoying as much family time as she could.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard O'Keefe; her children, daughter, Mollie O'Keefe, son, Nickolas (Katie) O'Keefe; grandchildren, Malia O'Keefe, (special friend, Nick Wunrow), Stevie O'Keefe, Lily O'Keefe, and Lakin O'Keefe; siblings, Harold (Shirley) LeSage Jr., Mary (Donald) VanDuyse, Grace (John) Ciaravella, and Charles LeSage; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pat is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Green Bay, WI, 54301 from 4:00 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 pm, with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos may be shared with Pat's family on her tribute page at www.lyndahl.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Patricia's name with all contributions being given to The Women's Fund of Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to The Bellin Cancer Team, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Compasses Hospice and Palliative Care.

Thanks for all you taught me about Caring and Sharing.

My heart and thoughts go out to the O' Keefe family. I can't say I've ever met Pat but am a friend of her son Nick. She did a great job raising him as he is one of the most thoughtful and genuine humans walking this planet. Reading some of these condolences I can understand she was a 'wonderful' person as well. May she rest peacefully. -B. Dier

I always admired Pat as a young working mother, watching as she navigated those murky waters of the corporate world and while being a kind, classing, happy, loving woman. My heartfelt condolences Mary and family.

I had the honor of working with Pat for over 25 years as a vendor. Pat was honest, humble and an inspiration to work with. She taught me how to seek compromise for the greater good. Pat was a true Servant Leader. God Bless

So sad to see this news. I worked with Pat at the bank in the late 90s. She was such a classy lady who was admired and respected by everyone. I remember vividly her loving stories of her daughter and granddaughter. She definitely left a warm spot in my heart. May God give you strength to get through this time of grief.

To Rick and the family, so sorry the hear of Pat's death but we will always remember those wonderful days on the water. The week end trips to Door county, spending the nights on our boats, the many trips with our friends, never to be forgotten. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

I was on Pat's team in the years before her retirement from Associated. She was a wonderful person, who loved her family very much and was very proud of them all. I learned gracious determination from Pat, which stays with me today. Blessings and peace to the family now and in the future.

Pat and Rick were neighbors as I grew up as part of the "Brookridge Street" gang . . loving neighbors that cared and looked out for each other and celebrated annually with block parties and music. My mother Vicky Kokal sends her condolences to her former neighbors and her family. As an adult my path crossed again with Pat as a co-worker at Associated. She was a beautiful, kind and giving person, even offering to visit my mother at her residence during her own illness. She was self less and the epitomy of an angel walking on earth. God Bless you Rick, Molly and family in the days and weeks ahead.
