D. Daniel Safford Obituary
D. Daniel Safford

Green Bay - D. Daniel Safford, 72, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was born on September 1, 1945, in Green Bay to Dudley and Mary (Stinn) Safford.

On October 29, 1966, he married Jeanne Jorgensen. Dan enjoyed working for Fore Way Express for many years. He was known as a dedicated hard worker and was respected throughout the company. Dan retired early to become a professional napper. He enjoyed going to the weekly Tuesday breakfast gatherings at Barley's with his Fore Way friends.

There was nothing more important than family time. He enjoyed having barbeques with his family and nights sitting on the patio with Jeanne. He loved family gatherings and reunions. Dan had a very special bond with his seven siblings and was fondly nicknamed "Diga Daga Dougo". They would take many R.V. trips throughout the U.S. together.

Dan enjoyed hunting and going to the shooting range with his friends. He was an avid reader, especially history. Dan was always ready for a Harley ride and to sit down for a chat. He enjoyed the challenge of a Soduko or crossword puzzle, or a good game of cribbage.

Dan is survived by his children, Jessie (Tom) Hermes, and their children, Erik, Ethan, and Logan, De Pere; Kristin Vollmer, and her children, Ryan and Marissa, Green Bay; two sisters and a brother, Sue (Ken) VanderLoop, Jerry (Jean) Safford, and Connie LaChapelle; and sister-in-law, Pat Safford.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; his parents; and his siblings, Dudley (Janet) Safford, Teckie (Jack) Krouth, Mary Lou (Jerry) Mohn, Clark Safford, and Larry Safford.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, August 11, followed by the Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William Hoffman officiating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
