Elsbeth Knutson

Green Bay - Our beloved mother, Elsbeth A. Knutson passed away January 7, 2021. She was born May 27, 1932, in Valmy, WI to Rev. Otto and Gretchen Henning. After graduating Valedictorian from Sevastopol High School, she worked at the Door County Advocate and the Bank of Sturgeon Bay. Elsbeth was married by her father to James Knutson on May 22, 1954 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Valmy. He preceded her in death May 3, 2014.

Elsbeth was known as "Muffin" to all who knew and loved her. She chose to write her own obituary, but to her friends and family, she was so much more than what she has written.

For most of their married life, Elsbeth and Jim worked together in their insurance agency and maintained an apple and cherry orchard and later a tree farm in Door County. In 2005 they moved to Green Bay to be nearer to their family.

Elsbeth was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Rebecca, and a great-grandson. She is survived by five children: Constance (Dennis) Christenson, Lisa, Andrea (Tim Andre), Elizabeth and Peter; grandchildren: Elliot (Gina), Eric (Ann), Justin (Michelle), Corey (Jennifer), Brandon (Kristen), Sadie, Cooper and Hattie; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A private service will be held at Forbes Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery in Sturgeon Bay. Memorials may be given according to the donor's wishes. On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com The service will be on Facebook Live at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Muffin's family would like to thank the many people who have loved and cared for her over the years, especially Wendy and her team.

Our sympathies to your family. Our dad is also a resident there. I have fond memories seeing her smiling face when we were able to visit regularly. May fond memories of a life well lived get you through the difficult days ahead.
