Harvey Meetz, 89, Green Bay, died Friday, January 17, 2014. He was born July 5, 1924, in Green Bay, the only child of the late Harvey and Odile (Bonjean) Meetz.

Harvey served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific Theatre from 1943 to 1946. On August 28, 1948, he married Joyce Brueckner at Annunciation Catholic Church. Harvey worked for The Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 35 years, retiring as a switchman. He was a charter member of St. Agnes Parish where he ushered for many years. Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and being a snowbird in Arizona. He loved reading anytime he could and spending time with his family.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce; his children, Gary Meetz; Judy and Bill Peterson and their children, Robert (Tara), and Kayla; Lynn Meetz and her son, Cameron; Jeffrey and Lamella Meetz and their sons, Shawn and Cory; a great-granddaughter, Reegan Peterson; other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Patrick C.
